I received some samples from GEM, a manufacturer of scenic materials located in Portugal.
When I received the samples I was impressed. Samples were nicely sealed in little bags.
They come in 9 different colours
Raw Sienna, Brown Earth, Ashes Black, Green Earth, Ochre, Iron Oxide, Burnt Sienna, Rust and Red Earth and are available in plastic containers of 20 gr and are available for 3 Euro a piece.
These pigments are very finely ground and blend well with eachother. If you know your way to create colours you can make different shades without any problem.
They mix well with water, turpenoids, white spirits and alcohols.
Some people will argue that using the normal pastel chalks is cheaper, even I was one of them, but I must admit, this is so much easier.
